- 2oldmanExplorer III have never had a problem taking a normal shower. Normal for me is.. maybe 5-6 minutes. No turning off the water.
I fret having enough water more than hot water. - Beverley_KenExplorerJust back from a week with DD and two teenage grandsons. It was common to take 2 or 3 shower in a row, and no one complained about running out of hot water. Oxygenics shower head (basic white model) and 6 gal propane only water heater.

With aologies to the OP... Which Oxygenics shower head are you guys using? I seem to find a bunch. I'm actually more worried about not filling up my grey tank so fast when I'm in a SP where there is no grey or sewer connections and the shower house is very far away.

- BheffingtonExplorerI just have to stock shower head but will look into the one mentioned above. At home my showers rarely last more than 5 minutes. I mean, does it really take more time than that to get clean? By the sounds of it, I should be AOK.
- If concerned you can take a military shower...shut it off between soaping...this will give you almost all the hot water needed....
- bob213ExplorerWith an Oxygenics shower head, both the wife and I can take a normal shower with 6 gallons on just electric. Running both electric and gas will give you quicker recovery.
- PapPappyExplorerGet a 5-gal bucket, and time how long it takes to put 1-gal in it.
It will have to do with the rate of flow that the shower nozzle has.
If you have a 1.0 GPM shower head, you can take a 3-4 minute shower, before that water is being cooled by the incoming water.
For what it's worth, I'd say that if you are willing to take "Navy Showers", cutting the water "off" when you are soaping up.....just use it to rinse, and rinse off.....you will have more than enough hot water.
Those small tanks will heat up pretty quickly, so I know that when DW and I use the shower, we haven't had any issues.....but also realize that we can't take a 20 minute shower either. - sbowman871ExplorerReally depends on how hot you like it and how long of a shower you take. I would highly reccomend an Oxygenics shower head. It disperses the water more efficently so you will use less water. Thus a longer shower per tank load.
