How many extension cords can you string together?

Golden_HVAC, thanks for your detailed and lengthy reply. What you're saying makes sense and those are things I need to consider. We are actually in the beginning stages of building a home, so I'm learning a lot of this as I go. Our underground well house is 180' feet from the meter pole and our home will be approximately 450' feet from the meter pole. We are running all the power underground. I keep telling my election that I would much rather go too big than too small on the wiring needs!
