There are MANY ¾ & 1t Hot Shot trucks out there with over a ½ million miles on their odometers and still going strong. I would worry far less about a drive train and more about the small nickel dime stuff that WILL break long before you have drive train problems. I personally would have no qualms about buying a used truck with 150K± miles, if it was properly maintained. Also, for $30K you can find a newer model than a 2005 Duramax.
