How much HP and torque does that little turbo diesel have? 200 or over? if so, 10-11K lbs total is not too big a deal for the drive train. EVEN at elevation as you are.
But as noted, issue may be payload. 6000 lbs of trailer could have as much as 900 lbs of hitch wt. Probably more like 650-700. Leaving you with another 700 or so to use for you, spouse, kid. Include your clothing, car seat etc in the peoples weights. Your 145 is more like 160-180 wearing clothes, depending upon summer vs winter clothing and boots on! How many lbs of CD's, maps, gps, etc etc do you have in our rig?
Is this doable, I am having a hard time saying is it not. I've gone down the road with my work van, an MB sprinter with a 200/400 Turbo diesel in the 11-13K lbs range, I've pulled plenty of freeway grades at or above 55-60 mph. If the Baby Dmax is on par with the V6 in the MB sprinter vans. I'm going to have a hard time thinking it will not work. No you will not be the fastest around, but doubt you will be the slowest either.
