Well I went back to the dealership to discuss the 2017 2500 and they came down to $61K, a $9K reduction (not NEAR enough!). So I countered with $50K and they didn't counteroffer or budge, exactly as I expected. They said that they'd rather use it as "loaner" for a year then sell it as used. The sales guy claimed that RAM pays them a monthly fee for the vehicles that they used a "loaners". I told them that I thought using a Diesel pick-up as a loaner sounded like a terrible idea and that I doubted that the profits from using it as a "loaner" would cover the carry charges for the initial investment of the truck. To me it almost like they were cutting off their nose in spite of their face. As I left, I told them that if they were serious about selling the truck to call me.
