In my opinion, you handled it exactly as you should have handled it. Too many people get emotionally involved in a vehicle purchase. It is a business transaction, keep it that way. Too often, people won't just walk away if the terms aren't right. At the end of the day, new or not; titled previously or not; it is still a 2 year old vehicle. You buy it today and for whatever reason have to sale it next week, the buyer isn't going to care that it was brand new on the lot a week early. They are going to treat it and price it as a 2 year old vehicle.
If you haven't heard from them at the end of the month, I'd reach out again and let them know that the offer still stands if they want to move it.
