I agree it's probably not, but I typically keep my vehicles a long time and it will allow us the ability to upgrade the trailer if we want down the road. We also plan on taking really long trips out west and we figured we can use the power. Also Ram is offering an extra incentive for the diesel and I'm told that diesel trucks hold their valve better.
If you plan on keeping a long time and upgrading the trailer later, strongly recommend you go to 3500 SRW.
I do see you are from Long Island NY, so there may be other issues for not buying a 3500!
