How much truck for a shortbed TC with a slide?

I always thought TC manufacturers made SB campers to cater to people that already owned a SB truck. If you don't own a truck and would like to buy one for TC hauling a long bed is the way to go. SB campers are limited to about 8 feet where as LB campers can be anywhere from 8 to 11 feet long which gives you so many more choices.
