I check the day before leaving. If there is a problem it gives me a day to fix it rather than altering my travel plans. - mtofell1ExplorerUsually before every trip. Only exception is if I was just out the weekend prior I might not check them. I'm always looking at them while out. Another thing is I'm a nut about replacing tires. No more than 5 years and once they get much below 50% tread or show signs of uneven wear I get new ones.

- 2manytoyzExplorer III used to only check mine before each trip. I've had a couple of blow-outs on the Goodyear Marathon tires. One was violent enough it shook the trailer and tow vehicle. The last one gave me no physical feedback. I had someone pull up next to us on the hwy, pointing at our trailer. I could see pieces of the tire coming off in the mirror, but no vibration what-so-ever. That was the last straw. What if the second tire, now overloaded since it's carrying all the weight on that side, also failed?
For $200, I bought a TPMS. Not only does it alert if a tire blows out, or the temperature gets too high, but it also gives me a pressure reading on all tires realtime. Now I check my tire pressure at every rest stop, and never have to get the tire pressure gauge out of the glove box. - AH64IDExplorerWith ST's I checked them before leaving home or camp site. With LT's I check them once every trip or two, just like the pickup.

Same here. I check and adjust pressures at the start of each new travel season. From then on I just check them often from the cab of the truck. - Chuck_thehammerExplorerboth before departing and retuning...
and thanks for the every 2 weeks.... as my first 3 stop, 3 month trip is approaching.
AND using (Living) in a camper more than 3 days at a time. - TequilaExplorerYes they are great, but a little disconcerting at first when you see how the pressure increases with heat
