How often do you use/need a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter?

As others may have stated....the 50a receptacle in the pedestal is a sturdier and tighter connection that the 30a. After having my cords destroyed by the burned blades on them and the male plug of my expensive surge protector, I now exclusively use my adapter for the 50 to 30. I've had no repeat of these problems since.
