I have read a statement like this many times and I don't know why stabilizer jacks can not be used for leveling. They are all I have ever used for leveling and they work fine. My trailer fully loaded weighs less than 5,000 pounds.
This is mainly on longer trailers, over 25feet. you can actually bend the frame if you try and lift both ends on one side of a trailer. you can use a leveling jack if it is installed in the center of the trailer right next to the spring mount.
