I race karts competitively in my spare time, and I'm the only one on the track that isn't a car guy. I asked someone one day how to adjust my valves, and he gave me a blank stare.. "The same way that you do on your car" ... haha .. I still had to be shown, and can now do it just fine, as well as re-surface my valves and other engine maintenance stuff.
I agree that it is odd that someone doesn't know how to use a jack, but I understand the situation. Just has to be shown once. Just a late-bloomer. :)
