I disagree. This would make it real easy to crunch the trailer into the camper on tight turns. It would make it difficult to hitch and un-hitch with the ball way up under the camper. Going thru a dip could raise the long tongue up into the camper bumper. And if you ever want to pull a different trailer your out of luck.
OP, The admittedly expensive Torque lift Super Hitch is great. I have one with a 48" extension for my 4,500 pound boat.
For your light trailer a Class V 2.5" receiver on your truck and a Reese 48" extension should work fine.
