How to pull cargo trailer behind a truck camper

The dealer told me today I would need to buy a $1,100 hitch set up to pull a cargo trailer behind a truck camper. This would be a class 5 hitch to replace the class 3 hitch on my truck and also a 48"...

We have 30 inches of camper overhang. We are planning to add an 18" extension with another 6" of ball mount. We are then extending the utility trailer's tongue 1 foot and replacing the jack on it with a fold-up model. This will allow us to pull the trailer with no problems, but we will only be hauling 1000 lbs or less in the trailer.
