Increased humidity will make ANY type of refrigeration take longer to cool down. The water vapor in the air has a high heat capacity and it has to be cooled, too.
However, in humid Tennessee, where the dewpoint is often about 70 degrees, our fridge will cool from 90 degrees down to 36 degrees in about 12 hours, with it empty, on either electric or propane, AND with keeping the door closed! Opening the door is the worst thing you can do.
