Yes, I think it took everyone by surprise.
My daughter is the lead Vet at Gulf World Marine Park in Panama City Beach. She and several others stayed at the facility as a "ride out' crew to watch over the animals. They never lost power and had no significant damage. She has power and water at her apartment on PC beach. Just goes to show, being in the right place at the right time pays off. We have no power here in Marianna, and don't expect to here in my neighborhood for weeks.
But, we have a roof over our heads, a good generator (actually 2) and are reasonably comfortable. Bless those who aren't so lucky.
