Congrats on the Super Duty....

I have a '12 6.7 PSD with ~ 58k miles now. To date I replaced the windshield wipers, tires, and shocks (even though the stock shocks were still good) and that's it.

Fantastic, Ford makes a great diesel product - while my career is mostly biotech/big pharma, I'm also FORD certified as a sales consultant, and have also sold GMC ten years ago through that "recession". Get some popcorn and read through your extended warranty, most every one of them aren't worth the paper they're printed on and area GIGANTIC profit center for the dealership. Typically you can get 100% of the cost of the extended warranty refunded within 30 days, and you can shop anywhere for the same warranties for a lot less money if you insist on having one. Enjoy your new ride! :)

I've had a spot reserved for a few nights for News Years Eve/Day. It's only about 100 miles one way tow, all interstate. That's unless I get to the scales before then. I want to get my weights documented.

Still reading the manual and flipping switches.

BTW- Um, is the secret handshake like a ring knocker?:)

Fine to top off DEF if you are driving a lot. I only drive a fair amount in the spring summer and fall. I only put in 2.5 gallons at a time. I think it is a good idea to keep the DEF as fresh as possible. JMHO

Keep good notes on your fuel filters and when they were changed, check the DEF tank level every now and then and when you see it under half full top it off.
The hardest thing I came across going to a diesel was that silly smile I got when I towed with it, usually took several days to go away :)

I wouldn't worry about those miles, I just turned over 120,000 on my 2011.

Lastly, drove again this morning and I thought I felt a 'clunk' under the front end after shifting into drive. Then again, I used to 'hear' them in my tundra, at least I thought I did..

I purchased a 48 month unlimited mileage extended warranty for 4.5K. It was steep but when buying used, and with all the gadgets this thing has, I thought the warranty was needed.

Plan to find a good mechanic in town, and use the dealership for any warranty work.

I stopped talking gas station and refer to it as Fuel station, keeps the mind aware you are buying FUEL, not necessarily gas.

I would not worry about the 54K miles that is just about 27K a year, just about what a diesel should run.

I went through that...traded in a 2005 Duramax 2500 for a 2015 F-350 DRW. I was happy with the trailer we had, when my DW's friend told her we could move to any trailer we wanted...we had a new trailer the next month....It will happen.
