Wasn't planning on buying yet as our pop-up needs warranty work (Jayco lift issue) and I was going to sell it first but this is too good to pass up. Or maybe too good to be true? Thoughts?

If it's too good to be true on Craigslist, it often is a scam. Not for certain, but often. Contact the seller and ask how to see it. If the answer is not straightforward, run.You can also try to see if you can find the same trailer listed in other parts of the country. Do a search on one of the nationwide CL search engines. If it is listed in other places, it's a scam for sure.You can use Searchtempest.com. I just went there and plugged in 2013 Lance 2185 and a lot of listings came up. Just a quick glance and I didn't see yours, but I did see a different one repeated all over the country, for $4200. And it is the same trailer at the same house as the one you found, but a different photo.

On CL, it's way more likely it's a scam than real. You'll know when the buyer wants you to send moeny before looking at it or it's never available to view.

I almost bought a TT off Craigslist, but got wondering why there were palm trees in the picture when the unit was supposed to be in St. Louis, Mo?Nothing but a scam!

I found a used Lance selling for way below retail.

Yep, probably a scam. But if you got a good response back then it would’ve been a good deal. Definitely worth the time to email.

i bought my current trailer off of Craigslist and it was a good transaction. I've also bought a car off Craigslist and sold trailers on eBay. never any issues. but i looked at them locally first before committing to anything

That's the response I got. I said I want to physically look at the trailer and have not heard back.

As long as I don't run out of patience we will find our perfect trailer one day.

The scammers simply lift descriptive ads from the source ad, or even from OEM websites. Too detailed of a description usually means the latter.

I've Googled for parts of scam ad descriptions and have found the legit ones on non-Craigslist sites.

A few years ago, I was selling a camper on Craigslist. After a day or so, I get an email telling me my ad was removed due to it being a scam. I had no idea what was going on. Someone had hacked my Craigslist account, changed the contact info, and lowered the price from $9,900 to $1500. Obviously, someone called on the camper and reported "me".

My thinking too. The first is a CL listing in Kansas City-didn't think there were mountains in the Kansas City area. The second has a phone # to reply, with a Maryland Area code :h
