- FireballsocalExplorerThat trailer here in SoCal would sell for double. I'm almost positive it's a scam. Here's an ad for the same model an hour from me for $4200. Looks like it is some kind of scam. https://palmsprings.craigslist.org/rvs/d/lance-travel-trailer-model/6327106841.html
- dodge_guyExplorer IIIf it is a scam, then that is the most descriptive add they have ever done. And it’s not a crazy low price like I’ve some scammers use like $3500. It may be a legit add. Once you get a reply you will know if it’s a scam or not!
Hold off judgment on this one till you know for sure, although with only one pic and no phone number it is very possible.
Now I did find some similar ads all over the country with the same picture but the description and price ($4200) is definitely a scam. Remember, the scammers have to get their pics from somewhere and the ad in the first post may be the legit ad. - HalmfamilyExplorerTell the seller your assistant already cut a check for the unit but mistakenly wrote it for $15000. If you can cash the check I'll let you keep $500 for your inconvenience and just have your bank issue me a check for the difference.
- Earl_EExplorerIf you contact through Craigs List, the seller doesn't get your email. As somebody already said, if they will let you come see it and have a legitimate title in hand to turn over you are probably fine. I sure wouldn't give them a dime until I inspected it. But another one in St. Louis for $4500? That's a bargain! And same house...
- bob_nestorExplorer IIIIt may not be a scam, but it may be a storm damaged unit. I suspect there will be a lot of these showing up after the damage Harvey and Irma caused.
Went with a friend this summer to look at an RV in Wasilla, AK. They guy selling it said he'd bought "outside" and brought it up to Alaska where he'd been doing some repairs in his shop over the the past few winters. There was an Alabama dealer sticker on the side and it appeared to us to have a lot of water damage. My feeling was it had been salvaged from hurricane Katrina or Rita and this guy was trying to fix and flip it. We walked away. - GdetrailerExplorer III

I never see Lance trailers around here and I like the floorplan. Wasn't planning on buying yet as our pop-up needs warranty work (Jayco lift issue) and I was going to sell it first but this is too good to pass up. Or maybe too good to be true?
Thoughts?
I would vote for a scammer also.
Anything priced way below average market value is bait for the scammers to real in the cheapskates..
Easy to spot.
Many scammers now days are using not only Craigslist but Ebay and a lot of Internet sites to get YOUR contact info..
DON'T email or contact these scammers, they want your Email, Phone number and any other means to contact you. They in turn will SELL that info to OTHER SCAMMERS.
Information is money to these folk and falling for these cheap deals is a great way to snag the info. - SidecarFlipExplorer III

It's clearly a scam. I'm just thinking about what to say when/if he replies. It's been 10 hours but maybe scammers take Sundays off too.
tell him you have 100 C notes in your pocket and you'll be over with your tow vehicle and have the title signed and ready. If he goes for it, take a friend and go armed. - TrueBlueKCExplorerIt's clearly a scam. I'm just thinking about what to say when/if he replies. - LwiddisExplorer III have never seen a Lance around here...either. Lots of palm trees in Missouri...I hear.
- WNYBobExplorerI almost bought a TT off Craigslist, but got wondering why there were palm trees in the picture when the unit was supposed to be in St. Louis, Mo?
Nothing but a scam!
