Everyone seems to be missing the OP's truck choice.... the 1500 Ram with the Diesel engine may have a payload max of under 1000 lbs depending on other options. That 1000 lbs includes passengers, gear, and tongue weight. WDH aside, some heavy duty coil springs may be required just to keep the hitch from hitting the ground.
I drive a 2010 Ram 1500 daily with a gas engine, 4x4, and 20" factory rims. The max payload sticker on my door is 990 lbs. That truck does not belong to me, it belongs to my employer, and it is a nice truck and rides VERY well, however it can't handle anything heavier then a bag of groceries.
I'm not saying run out and s**** the truck, just that you may want to beef-it-up a little in the back end... springs or otherwise.
