It's not just kids but adults as well sadly. Recent camping trip we had a group of about a half dozen adults repeatedly walking through our campsite to get to a trail (one of many) that led down to the lake the boats were tied up. Now this is a heavily treed campground with very private campsites so you really need to go out of your way to invade someones privacy. And there were many ways down to the water including a paved road that would have added about 50 yards to their walk.
After a couple times watching them step over and around our stuff as they walked right under my awning I finally asked them politely to take one of the many paths that did not go through our site. Ended up feeling like a jerk for doing so, but I would never think to invade someones privacy like that.
