First, bless you, bus drivers.....wouldn't have that job for any amount of money.
Just having a version of this discussion with a DF the other day after being at our AA ballgame the night before. Kids running the concourses at full speed, flying up and down the stairs like they were the only ones there. Screaming just for the sake of screaming - kinda like the ones at Walmart! I'm reasonably tolerant, but by the 6th inning, I'd had enough. Where are these parents??? and did they not realize that when they had these children, they come with a list of To-Do's and Don't's. What happens when these little darlings take a tumble down the stairs.....can you say "lawsuit"?? Worse yet is the very real chance of running into an older person or one who is disabled?? I'm really INtolerant of that since our DS#! uses either a cane or his walker. Even some adults won't "notice" someone with a cane, but you stand a better chance with a walker. The original owner of this team, a true PITA, enforced the no running/no screaming rule himself. He's gone now, thankfully. DH worked part time at the games for a couple of years and the only thing the ushers were allowed to do was to ask the kids not to run...no fussing, no yelling at them and definitely no touching. So, again, I have to wonder where these parents are?? If someone had to return my child - probably DS#2 - to me with some serious infraction report, I can pretty much guarantee that said child would only WISH he hadn't done whatever it was. Part of the deal of parenting is to parent.
