Maybe some campgrounds are not all the bad. I have seen pictures where the sires are large and spread out. Unfortunately I have never been in one of those.
We spent 16 days in CG with 30a service when we first got this rig only because after a few decades of roughing it, we wanted to use the toys in the camper. For that joy we were end to end and while not bad during the week, Friday thru Sunday was a free for all. We tried again last fall for four days in a dry CG at a lake just for a change of pace. Being shoehorned in with generators feet from our rig and running 24/7 just isn't what we go for.
I can see why some prefer CGs though. No need to spend cash on solar, batteries, inverters, generators and you can run the shower until the hot water runs out. They can reserve their favorite spots months in advance, pull in, plug in and be happy until the drunk next door leaves their lights on. At the end of the trip it is pack up, unplug and go home. A lot easier than what boondockers go thru especially if you want all the toys too.
As long as they are having fun, it's all good. I don't have to get it, only they do.
We are lucky here in Ontario, the Provincial Parks are expensive, but they have great shower facilities, laundry, and strict park wardens. They walk around at night and enforce noise rules, parking rules, and sometimes even lights (extreme light issues only)
I've only ever heard one generator running, that was at midnight, and it was stopped very shortly after it started... Wardens jumped on that situation right away.
