Ideas for keeping frig in outdoor kitchen cooler?

Mine works fine when the fridge is left closed all day, I only have the problem with mjne on very hot days when the door is opened frequently (3 kids, 2 adults). That is when I think the ice block could help. I like my beer ice cold, too! I almost always place one in the freezer for about 20 minutes before opening. I plan to cut vents into the OK door for ventilation while not camping. The fridge stays cold, but the OK gets very hot when closed up. I cannot go through the roof as there is a bunk above. I can go through the floor, the door, and the rear wall. I have a 4" hole saw and I could use some vents from Lowes or home depot with silicone adhesive. Maybe add a small computer fan to force air through if needed.

It does keep drinks cool, cool enough for the kids drinks but I like my 'adult beverages' ice cold! :B
I don't know if it's the constant direct sunlight or what.

We have camped at Ocean Lakes for 2 week stints for the past 5 years with an OK and fridge. The only issue I have is ice build up on the freezer part due to the humidity and opening and closing it all the time to get cold ones. At night I have opened the fridge door just to let the ice melt. I don't have any complaints. I mostly leave the door closed during the day since the sun hits it but leave open at night. I also prop it open sometimes just to let the heat escape.

It's beginning to sound like that it might be a problem fridge. Do you know the name and model number of it?

So cooking is probably the main benefit of outdoor kitchen.

The outside fridges used on campers run off of 110 volts. (They are just an small apartment type fridge). They would not work when you are dry camping anyway.

Seems like you should drink enough beer to ensure there is none left overnight. ;)

My outside fridge is vented through the floor and through a vent above the kitchen in the wall. There is no fan, but it is effectively a large chimney chase so it circulates well.

I don't see cutting a hole in the door or cutting a hole in the roof of a 2014 camper.
I've done the ice/cooler thing and I spent around $150 on ice alone that trip, don't care to do that again. Not to mention the frig works great under normal conditions. At the beach it's in direct sunlight all day.
The biggest issue is being on the front row and the sand blowing, forcing me to keep the door shut.

Maybe the fridge is not functioning properly?

I have used my outside fridge successfully regardless of the kitchen door being opened or closed. Dial up or down depending on your preference.
