If you use your RV for overnight stop at a rest area,Walmart Cracker barrel etc. It is often not convenient or permissible to deploy the slides.
The stop does not have to even be overnight. You may stop for lunch and decide to eat in the RV.
Having access to bathroom and kitchen without opening slides is often beneficial.
I have 5 slides that definitely impede access when retracted . However I have access to bathroom and master bedroom with slides in.
I do not have access to fridge without opening small slide.
It is a balancing act. The floor plan mentioned isn't so bad,assuming you can get to the bathroom. Also assumes you do not frequently do overnights stops at wal Marts etc.
