I can`t get to the bathroom or the kids bunkroom with my slide in. I never gave it a thought because they are designed to be used when in the out position. as someone else mentioned they weren't designed to be used when in (damage may be possible if used in this manner!) When on the road if I nee to use the bathroom I just slide it out 12" and all is good. honestly its not an issue and shouldn`t be!
Our previous trailer had a shallow super slide and it could be used with it in, but I never used it that way. no reason too!
