I have to agree with Profdant.
I tow with a half-ton 4x4 because it serves my day to day needs and I have no problem towing my 25 ft. TT.
I am sure a bigger truck would not hurt anything except my budget and the DW thinks the half-ton ride is stiff enough already. She is not afraid to tow with it or run daily errands but much prefers the size and ride of her van. Too bad it is way too small to tow.
There is more to buying a TV that the bigger is better philosophy. Bigger may be good but not necessarily better over all.
