At Cummins, when the engine reduces fuel/power/torque to save the engine from high temps, we called that de-fueling. When the fuel/power/torque is reduced between shifts, it was called torque management. When fuel/power/torque was limited in the first few gears it was called torque limiting. However, all of these are technically the management of torque or torque management.
