- legolasExplorerA ladder is great if your unit came with one. I don't have one but I got a really nice collapsible ladder at Camping World. Extends to 14 ft
when fully extended and collapses down to about 36" tall and fits quite well in the back of my pickup. I love it and there is always a need to check the roof. - MFLNomad III would not add a ladder, and many TT roofs are not meant to be walked on. There are times when getting on the roof is necessary, such as replacing vent covers, checking/redoing caulking, and AC servicing. In these cases, it is often recommended to lay some support on the roof to spread the weight. Using a tall step ladder is a good choice, so you don't have a ladder laying direct on roof edge.

- kerrlakeRooExplorerHow old is your trailer?
manufacturers have the measurements available for most newer units for exactly where the stiffeners are located for ladder install.
Just contact them for the measurements. - SoundGuyExplorer

I am wondering if its worth it. Is it difficult to find studs for mounting and is it really necessary. How many times do you need to go up there. Opinions and comments appreciated.
Absolutely necessary to mount into studs. Best way is to order a trailer with a ladder factory installed, DIY often not recommended by dealers as the opportunity to screw up the installation is considerable. I don't have a ladder and wouldn't ever consider installing one myself, anytime I need to access the roof (a few times each season) I simply use an extension ladder.
