Cracked from prolonged extreme cold temps, can happen to pretty much any material when exposed to extreme temps.. Pretty common with folks that live in places that have these conditions when storing their RV.
In a nutshell the vinyl flooring shrinks in size as it gets cold and combine that with the natural tendency of wood to hold a certain moisture content that freezes and expands the dimensions of said wood you get a point where the vinyl rips..
