I just experienced the cam phaser issue with my 2010 f150 5.4l. it had 70,000 kms which is around 44,000 miles. I was diligent with maintenance on the truck and babied her. I only brought her into genuine Ford service shop and performed all recommended services. My warranty period ended about 4 months ago and then BAM, cam phasers went. it cost me just under $4000. Ford never offered me any help in the matter which ticked me off, then they said they recommended getting the plugs done for another $1400!!! So needless to say it was time to rid myself of this headache, I had the repairs to the cam phasers done so I could trade her in on a 2015 Silverado HD with a 6.0l. Also this time around I purchased the extended warranty, hopefully I wont need to use it.
