Russ! This is a bit nasty looking for a new engine that is not suppose to be having that many issues! What is going to happen when these are off warranty? Extended warranties will get very expensive also.
My old boat/commercial truck motor is looking better and better.
6.7 Motor Problems
Yes I too find it interesting that the Powerstroke continues to have a Issues header with the 6.7. :(
To be fair we should also have a referance to the Issues header on the Cummins forum, but I couldn't find one. This is as close as I could find! Check the "2013 & 2014 Issues Thread" this is a sticky thread with about 150 post.
Cummins Forum
Here you go!
Turbo Diesel Register
A quick look does not show any current "Complete Engine Failure", "Dropped Valve" or "Parts sticking out of pan" post like I saw on the PowerStroke site.
What I have a hard time understand across them all is why people would start doing deletes and other mods to one of these new trucks that is so dependent on the manufacturers warranty.
I am turning 70 in June so most likely given good health would only want to snowbird for another 10 years or so. And to me my old noisy Cummins will be getting quieter and quieter as the years go by(say WHAT? I did not hear you!), so the noise will bother me less and less.
I wonder if I was on my way to Arizona and had a Ford complete engine failure, how many days would I be hung up waiting to get a new factory rebuilt engine installed. Also if my truck was fairly new I would be really PO that they installed a rebuilt engine vs a new engine.
