I think what's really going on is that when the trailer is sitting on the tires the frame is supported at the spring shackles. When supporting weight with the jacks the frame is supported at the jack point. Different support point equal different frame twists.

I've never raised or really extended the leaf springs to much with the Scissor Jacks. It's my belief the leveling comes from tire ramps. Then I just snug the jacks. My short cuts have always seemed to come around and bite me when I least expect it.

My stabilizers can handle quite a bit of vertical weight, but they are not strong enough to resist twisting or back and forth forces. This is exacerbated by the fact that my TT has a significant ground clearance, so the stabilizers are extended significantly to touch the ground (even with quite a few lynx blocks underneath). I can see the stabilizers twisting or bending if I put all the weight of the TT on them.

In August, we are experimenting by placing our TT on a site for the month. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to block up under the frame in a few locations to minimize the bouncing or back/forth movements when moving around inside. The wheels are too far apart to use the BAL chock system effectively. I may just use some bottle jacks to lift the frame enough to place some wooden blocks under the frame in a few locations. One problem though is that when I looked under the TT recently, I noticed an extensive system of gas lines running along and attached to a substantial portion of the frame. I obviously don't want to do anything to mess with the gas lines. And my TT does not have the full frame with large beams running all the way from hitch to back bumper.

Can't believe that's a good idea to have the entire weight of the trailer on the stabilizers. So much easier and less risk to level under the wheels then add the stabilizers. I use Lynx blocks and they work great. Each to his own, I guess. Not my trailer.

I would think you would have a big problem with them sinking unless on a hard surface. Is this not so? I use linx levelers and I put plywood under them on any kind of soft ground.

Love the Andersen levelers. I used them for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

After doing a lot of reading I have changed my mind. I ordered a pair of Andersen 3604 levelers. I do believe they will make it even easier and quicker to level the trailer. See video here.

I did that for my first couple of trips. I was having issues with this, and posted a question here regarding my "levelling jacks" .. I was corrected quickly :) That was my first post here.

I would imagine it would make the trailer less stable as far as rocking.
