Interior Walls..Wood or Metal. 2006 Keystone Zeppelin

I am going to have to reattach the bracket/mounting plate that holds the pulleys for my slideout. The screws that hold/mount the bracket to the wall actually pulled out.
My question is...what is behind that wall? What do those screws actually run in to? Is it a wood or metal stud? How much area do I have to utilize, in case I have to drill new holes in the bracket and then mount into the wall?
Would be like looking for the stud behind drywall.

Just not sure how these walls are framed or designed. especially in the areas where the cable/pulley brackets are mounted.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
  • Found out today why mounting bracket pulled outta the wall. Top bolt that holds the corner of the bracket in is not drilled into or attached to anything. It went through the bracket and into Styrofoam behind the wall.
Will now have to drill and tap for bigger lag bolts to mount the bracket to the wall. Amazing the shoddy craftsmanship of some of these things.
  • Don't know the answer but I have had amazing luck with something called a Toggler made by Hilti. It's like a molly but it stays in position. The wall has to be approx 1/2 in. thick for it to work properly.
Of course, there are always mollys.
