If you haven't already bought the truck, check into the Ford F150 with the heavy duty towing package. It'll give you a payload capacity of around 2K pounds and I believe it also comes with LT tires, which are quite a bit stiffer than the typical 1/2 ton truck tires.
If your heart is set on that Tundra, I think that TT is at the upper end of the Tundra's capacity for cross country trekking. Weekend trips and I would say no big deal. The main issue I worry about isn't so much the weight of the TT, but the stability, particularly for cross winds. You *will* encounter heavy winds when towing. I've never used a Pro-pride but that sounds like a wise investment if you go with the Tundra.
