Okay, I can see that. If you're not going to continue to be a truck owner then you want to get in and out as inexpensively as possible. I can't say what has better resale value. It might well be the Toyota. They are very popular.

Did you consider a 1 year lease? Easy in, easy out, and they usually start pestering you to trade at about 9 months. I never/ever recommend leasing, but this might be the rare occasion where it makes sense. Will depend on your projected miles though.
