I used to have an F150 Ecoboost and actually MUCH preferred that engine to the 5.0 V8. The Ecoboost had more power and made it down low; the V8 was more sluggish off the line and didn't accelerate as well once you got going. Plus, the turbo will make more consistent power at high altitude.
