Another Tundra owner here with no problems.
2008 5.7 4wd, full factory tow package, pulling a 6300 dry, ~7500 loaded TT. The Tundra does not even know it's back there. No sway, no porpoising. On long highway grades I have to watch my speed, because even pulling a hill I can exceed the speed limit.
I think the factory engineers low-balled the towing specs when calculating them.
The Tundra is a workhorse, closer to a 3/4 ton than a 1/2 ton.
