For those of you with 1/2 ton trucks pulling 7500 lbs trailers successfully...
- What type of hitching system are you using

Used to pull a 7200 lb (31 ft) trailer with Nissan Titan. Titan had 9400 lb tow capacity and plenty of power under the hood. I was well within tow capacity, and borderline on payload. WDH was a standard Drawtite trunion bar setup, with a single friction sway bar. Windy days were fine, as long as it was a tail wind. Cross winds were misserable. Almost went in a ditch, more than once. Not only big rigs, but any vehicle causing a bow wave, would push me around on the road. Eight hours on the road, would create leg, back, neck, and arm / hand cramps (white knuckles). On weekend trips, the cramps would subside, just in time for the trip home.
The trailer weight was equal to or greater than the truck weight. The trailer being an extremely large sail, when the wind pushed it, it pulled the truck along with it.
