Buy a used 2007.5+ GM 3/4 ton pickup. Sell it after the trip. A used 2008 with 80k miles will not depreciate much in a year (maybe $2000) compared to anything new. They are reliable capable trucks.
A crew cab 4WD F-150 is closer to 6000 pounds than 5000 pounds. If you want an F-150, find one with at least the max trailer towing package. And I recommend the Ecoboost for it's 420 ft-lb of torque at 2500rpm vs. every V8 competitor V8 except GM's 6.2L, but at 4000+ rpm. That will have a tow rating of over 11k pounds, not 8000. Forced induction engines lose less power at higher altitudes than naturally aspirated.
