My earlier 2000 V6 Xterra and 2005 4.0L V6 Pathfinder 4WDs could never break 19 mpg in any situation. Both were truck based SUVs and not the useless minivan/cars that they make today. Hek, the new minivan/car based crossovers don't even have 4WD but useless AWD. My wifes Escape with AWD couldn't find itself out of a wet paper bag! :) I could go anywhere in my Xterra and almost anywhere in the Pathfinder.
