Is it normal for a new TT to have been used?

As mentioned new or used is essentially a matter of opinion. Unfortunately it is the dealers opinion that counts.

Not working in the RV business I do not know what is normal. I do know that some dealers will let you keep a car over weekend is you are serious.

Just add the question if it matters to you to your shopping checklist, "Has this new trailer been used as demo or loaned out?"... no one is going to solve this here, it happens sometimes, doesn't other times. I found the RV dealers to follow their own "rules" and it is not like a car dealership... wonder if it is even regulated for demo and loaners. I would expect not since there are no odometers or hour meters are travel trailers..

We bought our travel trailer used. It was listed as never been used, the husband died before the new owners got to use it. It was used as evidenced by pyramid in black tank and other items that showed it had been used (we believe that it was used as guest house for the visitors the widow had after her husband's death).

We did not pay new price, so no worries.

I have met plenty of folks who haul rv's to the dealers lot and they all took their sleeping bags and slept inside the rv on the bed. But they didnt use any of the facilities. I have gone to also look at new rv I was interested in but the manager had it out for the weekend with his family. Still they were selling it as new

Best thing to do is find a more reputable dealer.

For all of you posting that the OP should find a more reputable dealer...

How do you know the dealer is NOT reputable? The dealer already disclosed what was happening with the trailer...sounds on the up and up to me.

The amount of BS slung on this forum based on some posters one sided posts always amazes me. You hear a simple question posed and infer all kinds of nefarious activities.

Makes you think the dealer is not reputable? No mention was made of the condition the trailer would be sold under, price or anything else. The dealer was honest and up front about what was happening o the trailer. So tell me what about that makes the dealer not a reputable dealer?

I know some car dealers advertise cars as "new-used" Not sure how that is different than a 'demo' maybe it cant be classified as "used unless they actually sell it to someone.

I know mine was bought new, but it was also on the lot and having people walk through it..

Ha ha. I could tell you a lot of things that went on in the demos my Dad had when I was a teenager! There was a lot more than some one sitting in the seat!!:B

I test drove a Tacoma at one dealer. the salesman later found out that it had been sold. :)
