Is this fair value / size of truck needed

NADA also assumes "average" usage. If this camper is as little-used as claimed, it should be worth more than NADA based on that fact alone.

I think you can do better on the price but you might consider setting up a search on rvtrader.com and do some searching over a large area and then you'll have a better idea of the market. You might run across a newer model for the same money

I have no problem with the big white whale humping my little srw truck, but if someone threw a set of dually wheels and some mega dually rear fenders my way, they would be on the truck by this weekend!

If TCS are scarce by you, unlike here, that factors in a bit on price.
I had an aluminum frame AF and now have an older wood frame. Honestly don't notice much difference.....except you have to be more diligent in looking for rotting wood, dry or wet rot.
Personally I'd pass, unless you could verify it's been stored under cover (not a cover, a shelter) and inspect with a fine tooth comb.
Check the corners where the jacks mount. If the lags that hold the jacks strip out when you try to tighten them a bit = rotted corners, in the worst place on the camper.
Otherwise, in my limited experience they are good campers, idk if you'll find much else that age that's better.
Of course do the rest of your due diligence, making sure all the features work. Expect it will not be maintenance or repair free, none of them are, but now appliances, jacks, slide motor, pump etc are all getting old. More likely than not you'll have some repairs to do, just FYI.

On the truck thing, BARE minimum, properly beefed up 3/4 or 1 ton srw. Dually is really the right/comfortable choice......coming from someone hauling almost the same on a short bed srw truck.

NADA is a guide, it doesn't take in to account the location, how many others are around locally, how bad do you want it, how was it maintained....To get a good deal, you have to feel good about it, plain and simple. That's all that matters to a point.
You can always have the man take the camper somewhere for an inspection.

When you guys say TC's leak, how/where do they leak? How do you fix it? Tell me more about leaks, lol.

Someone said this TC shows $9k on NADA. For one in great condition, would you pay NADA or how much less? To get a good deal.
