The law even makes sense. Imagine the rain of gravel and stones it will create for the cars running behind and beside it.

But yeah, that's hardly being implemented. Otherwise, even ordinary wide off road tires would be cited.

Rims are 10" wide, bead to bead, vs stock of 6.5"...so about 3.5" wider than stock...plus the above, so about 10.5" wider than stock track

Since my bearings are rated same as the 1 ton dually of that year...my setup has tons of margin for 'normal' driving...since am VERY hard when hot rodding, there are moments when their ratings are exceeded and why at about 169K miles...the front hubs are starting to complain a bit when turned in either direction to the stops...

Never visited that county. Is it close to Jacksonville ? While checking out a board manufacturing/assembly source, visited Jabil out there. Wonderful folks...they even had a volleyball courts setup INSIDE the building...they put it back up when they found out am a tournament player. Went over to check out the dog race park, but they were closed.

True. It is one of those balancing acts. A little wider probably won't amount to much additional wear, but you reach a point where it will have a significant impact.

A friend let his son talk him into putting some of the really wide wheels with wide spacers (I'm not sure how wide the spacers were, but they were pretty wide to the point at least half of the tire width was outside the fender) on the son's truck and they were replacing bearings within 6 months. I'm extra cautious and sensitive to the underside squeaking, so I'll probably spot it when it happens.

Good maintenance for the tow vehicle and the trailer is absolute necessity for RVers (a wisdom I learned with much appreciation to the veterans and road warriors out here).

Wider stance does increase the stability in curves and turns...especially during high speed maneuvers

Stiffer/stronger sidewalls is wanted for lower slip angle and the above, better handling on curves and corners (high speed for both)

Yes, they will ride a 'bit' harsher, but well worth it to those who have performance higher on their 'have to have' list...over ride quality

Yes, wider stance will have better moments to handle those cornering/curve maneuvers and as mentioned...increased moments will also create higher loading on the suspension parts...mainly the bearings

If the OP also changed the wheels, they might not be stock offset, which if more negative offset...will increase the track even more

Why did the OP go with 2" spacers in their re-engineering of the suspension/wheel/tire setup?
