Or you can do what I ended up doing and stretch your trailer tongue so it reaches the truck hitch without an extension. This is the safest, best handling, most goodest way to do it.
Most people don't because it involves a little cutting and welding and you can't buy it premade from a store.
I would think extending a 34' TT tongue would cause more problems with the frame of the TT. We have all seen pictures of TT A frames breaking off the main frame of the TT because of the stress in that area. - jimh406Explorer III

Or, because they have a lot of trailers, trailer frames are sometimes more than just basic cutting/welding, tow other people's trailers, tow vehicles with tow bars, and also rent trailers. :) - burningmanExplorer IIOr you can do what I ended up doing and stretch your trailer tongue so it reaches the truck hitch without an extension. - joe_julie81ExplorerWhat are are. Wdh s?
- Grit_dogNavigator IIOmg, no you're going to crash and burn and kill a bus load of nuns!
Just kidding. Weird 3 pages and not a response like that. Weight cops must've seen "dually" and moved along....
That is a big load for the ole truck and you'll have a substantial hitch extension that I'm not sure take kindly to wdh s. Especially with over 2 tons in the bed. I'm not sure how all that would work, but if you got the right receiver and hitch extension to handle the (sizeable) tongue weight AND some good suspension enhancements on the truck, the mighty Cummins with the 5600 behind it will pull it without issue.
(If you're stock tuning, I'd look at adding a modest tune to it as well so you weren't blocking the slow lane going up the big hills.)
I'd do it, but then again I've been accused of condoning overloading before...... - joe_julie81ExplorerThanks for the advice and insight. I can't give the info on the camper and trailer because I don't have them yet; only the duelly. The camper I'm planning is a NorthStar pop up 950SC. I was just wondering about pulling various TT's up to the larger ones.
- jimh406Explorer IIIBedlam, too bad, you haven't had a Mammoth borrowed as a "model" to work out where to add your storage under. :)
- BedlamModeratorThe flat bed has been sitting empty for too long. When you sell things on your own, you never when the right buyer will come along. My F250 sold the day after I brought the 5500 home. The Arctic Fox almost sold 5 months exactly from when I pick up my Host. My Weekend Warrior sold about two months before I picked the Arctic Fox...
Now I just need to sell off one of my dune buggies before I start planning what to do with my pre-scandal VW diesel (DW wants a new car). - Reddog1Explorer IIBedlam, I sure like your truck, especially with the flatbed.
