Is this thing a joke, photoshop or real ?

  • Not sure how that thing would tow up *any* hill... But it's real.
  • Back in the day the Tacoma was basically the same platform as the international Hi-Lux. You could get dually wheels for it imported, as they are available for it outside the US. Then it's just a simple matter of making the fenders.

    Also, I think at one point they made a version that had an 8 foot bed, regular cab. I remember the advertising for it.
  • Real- I had one back then, also a sunrader camper (1972) great little units.
  • Back in 80's saw these customized Toyota trucks all the time in Southern California. Based on the design of the rear fenders and graphics, I would say this was made by the same company that customized the fullsized vans to tow 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers.
