Thanks to all who took the time to post a response. I have been digging into the weight ratings of this truck and find the "Consumer Information" truck camper Loading sheet I found in the glove box is spot on. The sheet lists a max weight of 2815 lbs, GVWR 11,500 lbs, and a center of gravity zone of 95.5 - 45 inches (measured from the tailgate forward). Any loading closer to the front of the truck reduces the payload load rating.
Based on the last post by MORSNOW it appears a realistic weight for the WC840 might be 3150 lbs, which would be 300-400 over my max payload. I will weigh the truck today and find out the actual rear weight, but I think I will be under all axle, tire and GVWR limits easily -- it is the reduced max payload due to all the options installed (diesel, auto tranny, rear seat floor, etc.) that really limits the payload rating. All that stuff adds up to well over 800 lbs.
I am still on the fence about this. I have also looked at the Adventurer 80RB, and have considered models from Four Wheel, Northstar and Hallmark. Until I find a solution or make a decision about the Wolf Creek I'm still in limbo. Guess it's time to unload the shingles and construction debris out of the back of the truck and get it weighed.
Sorry to take so long to respond. As soon as I posted I have since been plowing snow on the interstate. Dang winter storms keep rearing their ugly heads. Makes it hard to get things done around here!
