Here's the math once again.
Truck is right at 7860 lbs. GVWR is 11,500 lbs. Camper is estimated to weigh fully loaded 3000-3400 lbs. That leaves at least a 200 lb difference. Definitely not going over but will be near enough to need a mod of some type. Add me and the Admiral and we hit it.
Rear end is 3140 plus the camper at (max) 3400. That yields gross rear end weight of 6540, which is 500 lbs under the max of 7050. Some of the camper weight will transfer to the front end -- how much I don't know.
Front end actual weight is 4720. Front axle weight rating is 6000. I can count on 500 lbs of people and stuff in the cab so I figure I'm pushing near the front max when loaded with the camper.
I guess it all comes down to my comfort level being that close to the factory limits, doesn't it? How poorly the truck handles will be unknown until I have it mounted won't it?
We leave for a dealer tomorrow. We have to travel to see one as we are in rural Idaho.
