I have multiple key rings with quick disconnects. Each ring is for a vehicle/purpose and its associated locks. When carrying the keys all the rings are joined together for the vehicles I have with me. When operating/accessing the vehicle, I disconnect the appropriate ring from the rest.
On a long trip I may have rings for the lock boxes, home, truck, camper, trailer and three more vehicles inside the trailer, but that doesn't mean I will dangle the entire mess off the ignition switch...
