I highly doubt you'll notice the difference in weight even if you towed them back to back. 500 pounds more is not much when it comes to how a high walled trailer tows. You might be half a mile per hour slower up the hill. Make the wife happy and get the one she wants. Get a proportional brake controller and WDH with integrated sway control. Learn how to adjust both.
Now you may not like how the 5.4L with 3 usable towing gears tows. Are you prepared to replace the truck if you aren't comfortable?
